Awards Application

The Family and Consumer Sciences Teachers Association of Texas Best of the Best Awards Program recognizes and honors individuals for outstanding contributions to Family and Consumer Sciences Education.
 
Awards are presented in the following categories annually at the FCSTAT Awards Program and Reception.

Region/State Teacher of the Year: To recognize and honor a family and consumer sciences teacher from each of the five regions for creative and innovative teaching, growth and development of students, and contributions to the community and profession.
Eligibility: Any member of FCSTAT who is an active family and consumer sciences teacher in the state of Texas. Five years must elapse between nominations for winners of the Region Teacher award. FCSTAT Board Members are ineligible.

Rookie Teacher of the Year: To recognize and honor a family and consumer sciences teacher, who has been teaching no more than two years, for creative and innovative teaching, growth and development of students, and contributions to the community and profession.
Eligibility: Any member of FCSTAT who is an active family and consumer sciences teacher in the state of Texas.

Administrators (Superintendent or Principal): To identify administrators (superintendents or principals) who have made consistent and outstanding contributions in support of Family and Consumer Sciences Education.
Eligibility: Any administrator in Texas.

Counselor: To identify counselors who have made consistent and outstanding contributions in support of Family and Consumer Sciences Education.
Eligibility: Any counselor in Texas.

Career and Technology Administrator/Local Supervisor: To identify career and technology administrators and/or local supervisors who have made consistent and outstanding contributions in support of Family and Consumer Sciences Education.
Eligibility: Any certified career and technology administrator and/or supervisor in Texas.

Distinguished Service: To recognize individuals or organizations who have made consistent and outstanding contributions in support of Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Recipient(s) not limited to any individual group.

Golden Flame Award: To recognize members of the State Board of Education and/or State Legislators for significant contributions to Family and Consumer Sciences Education.

Golden Service: To recognize auxiliary personnel in public schools who have made consistent and outstanding contributions in support of Family and Consumer Sciences Education, family and consumer sciences teachers and their programs.
